Hi Guys and Gals,
Okay, here's how it went down. For Zone Conference the GA's ( General Authorities), were planning a visit. All Missionary's were on Red Alert !! Who will be chosen for an GA interview? Laura was like, well...there are so many better than me, I'm not to worried they will call me. So at 10:30 on Sunday night, they get the call....Sister Burns you have been chosen to have an interview . Yikes !! and you are the only Sister missionary getting one. Be here at the church at 7 am sharp.. So Laura says she got to the chapel and she had her tissues ready. There were many Elders and only her. Elder Packer shook everyone's hands and then interviews started. As Laura is patiently waiting her turn, which was in the middle of the interviews, her skirt decides it wants to stick to her legs. So tissues in hand and skirt clinging, she was called in. Then Laura offered a word of prayer with the GA. aghhhhh !! Then Elder Packer asked Laura what the hardest thing about her mission was. Much to my dismay it wasn't not being with me and Roo:).Laura replied she had some feelings of being inadequate. And Elder Packer said " I feel inadequate too" He told her it was okay and that she's probably a better missionary because she can understand where investigators are coming from. Laura reports he was so nice and said she is doing just fine. In her own words here it comes " Then as he stood up to shake my hand at the end, he grabbed it, looked into my eyes, pauses for a long second and said" Tell your Mom... Pause... that the Lord appreciates the work you are doing here". Laura said she never brought me up in the interview. He truly is an inspired man of God. Yep..Yep.. my little Laura was interview by a GA. That is a miracle itself. The Elders in her district are the best. They really watch out for the Sisters and even me. I get mail from them and they tell me how amazing my daughter is and how much they love me. They are so cute, and ALL are planning on coming to Utah to "hang with Mama Love" They are still teaching deaf investigator Kenneth the oompa loompa, he wants to be a pastor and thinks he is already saved. He has the most amazing spirit, and it is a slow process. They are still teaching the FDLS gal, Laura said he is super nice and wasn't raised on a compound. They must have been asking too many questions, ( that's my girl) cuz she got a bit offended by something. Now they have to fix it. I have faith in her ability to make it right. The girl is awesome. Things are happening all around us, we need to be aware of people in need and are looking for help. Through service we find ourselves. I too have had some missionary experiences here in Provo. I know they were sent to find me, these things are not just by accident, but with the hand of the Lord involved in all things which are good. I am so blessed to have Laura serving, she is making a difference in so many peoples lives and I am so proud of my daughter. Thats it for now friends, Thanks for your support and letters to Lolo. " Stay on the Right Side of the Light Side" Love Missionary
